In October 1999, the Ministry of Education, Singapore, and the Education
Departments of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Northern Ireland signed a Memorandum of Understanding. Under the
Singapore-UK MOU, the two countries pledged to explore opportunities
for co-operation in the enhancement of learning and training at all
levels and the provision of skills to young people that will prepare
them for the emerging global information society. Exchange programmes
and school attachments for teachers, and collaborative projects amongst
pupils are some deliverables under the MOU.
